· Sinopsis ·
1492. Entre la tripulación de Cristóbal Colón viajan tres hombres que ya deberían haber muerto. Han conseguido evitar sus condenas participando en el incierto viaje, pero al llegar a las Islas Canarias, huyen cargados con una de las velas de la embarcación. Mientras, en “El Viejo Mundo”, una mujer trata de salvar a su hermana moribunda, con la esperanza de que una curandera pueda ayudarla. Ambos viajes tratan de burlar a la muerte. Ambos viajes están a merced del tiempo y de la Historia.

Siempre nos ha seducido el misterio que entraña el pasado por todo el universo posible de acciones, ideas y experiencias que se puede generar al imaginarlo desde la contemporaneidad.
La película se sitúa en 1492, año que representa el inicio del proyecto de dominación occidental, y que supone lo que algunos teóricos señalan como el inicio de una nueva era geológica: el llamado antropoceno. A partir de esta fecha, la caza de brujas, la trata de esclavos y la conquista de América, fueron imprescindibles para instaurar y articular el sistema capitalista moderno del que somos descendientes.
Eles transportan a morte es un film sobre el duelo, sobre la muerte de nuestros seres queridos, de nuestros amigos. Pero también de aquellos que nunca conocimos, de las ideas y las memorias que se quedaron sepultadas por el camino, y que de alguna forma consiguen seguir vivas en nosotros, como una llama inextinguible.

· Synopsis ·
1492. Among the crew captained by Christopher Columbus, travel three men who should have been dead by now. They have managed to avoid their sad fate by taking part in this uncertain journey, but reaching the Canary Islands they flee, taking one of the ship’s sails with them. Meanwhile, in the “Old World”, a woman tries to save her dying sister by bringing her to a healer. Both of these journeys attempt to laugh at death. Both journeys are at the mercy of time and History.

We have always been seduced by the mystery of the past, because of the universe of possibilities, actions , ideas and experiences, which envisioning it from a contemporary standpoint implies.
The film is set in 1492, a year that represents the beginning of the Western project of global domination, a period which also represents what some theorists point out as the beginning of a new geological era, the so-called Anthropocene. From this date on, witch-hunts, the slave trade and the conquest of America were essential to establish and articulate the modern capitalist system of which we are all descendants.
They Carry Death is a film about mourning, about the death of our loved ones, of our friends, of the image we have of them in our memory. But also of those we never knew, of the ideas and memories that were buried along the way, and that somehow manage to stay alive in us, like an inextinguishable flame.
